In loving memory of Louis Gray-Blest who sadly passed away on 29th July 2020.

The family have expressed that no flowers be sent, donations in lieu, may be sent care of the funeral director. Thank you.

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce that Louis Gray-Blest, aged 21, our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on 29th July 2020.

Those who knew Louis, even just a little, have lost a shining light of love, laughter and energy in their lives.

Louis will be missed every moment, every day, always, by his father, Phil Gray-Blest, his mother, Steph Gray-Blest, brother Harry, sister Elsie, girlfriend Mollie, her parents Alison and Bob, his grandparents Christine, Pete, John, Mary, Alan, Susie, his loving Aunts Sharon and Andrea and many, many great friends.

With us for such a short time, so loved by us all, he carved such a place in the lives of many. Twenty-one, a young man full of love, laughter, mischief, here for a good time, a good man, a genuinely kind man, a truly caring soul.

Louis loved to be always moving. As a baby, he could be held close only in sleep. As soon as he could stand, he was jumping. As soon as he could walk, he was running. As soon as he was bike riding, he was flying.

His energy and love for fast, furious excitement drove him to become a top BMX'er, winning a number of nationals, and coming second at the Brits in 2010. He rode faster, jumped higher, carried out crazy tricks, always with a gorgeous smile, always with a giggle, always with that mischief. He was an incredibly popular member of Nottingham Outlaws, the club that attended Bulwell track, a track that the family had supported in building and running for many years.

Louis learnt his craft as a gas engineer, his father was proud to welcome him on board the family business; Attenborough Heating. He quickly gained in skill, knowledge and confidence and was very well liked and respected by the clients who loved his humour and stories of misdemeanours. He infected others with joy, an incredible gift. Louis recently gained his engineer qualification. A real asset to the crew, with Phil, Harry and Curtis, they made the absolute dream team, fixing boilers in their uniquely caring way. These big burly bears turning up with a cheeky smile, grin, and soon laughter flowing along with cups of tea as clients enjoyed their company as well as their high quality work.

He recently took to skateboarding and music making. Louis' talent in making music was something little known by many. He found solace in writing lyrics, and with his closest friends made a number of incredibly poignant and powerful pieces of music. The most recent, written for and about his beautiful girlfriend Mollie. We saw how he loved Mollie totally, seeing her family, Alison and Bob as an extension of his own as does the entire Gray-Blest clan.

Louis made his entire family proud in every way. A truly truly loved being by so so many, taken too soon, an absolute tragedy. Always remembered, always missed and will be constantly burning brightly in our own hearts and souls fueling our desire to carry his legacy of and to; family, friendship and good times.

Louis, our love, our light.
Always with us.

Sadly, due to current restrictions caused by Covid-19 we are only allowed a maximum of 30 people to enter the chapel at Bramcote Crematorium. We have therefore made the decision to webcast the funeral service.
We invite the many friends and extended family that would like to celebrate the life of Louis Gray-Blest with us, to join together outside of the chapel to share the service by watching on your own devices - phones, watches.

So, so sorry for your loss.
I never knew you Louis, or your mum, dad, brother or sister.
But I do know your lovely grandma, Christine, and I know how proud she was, and always will be of you, and how much she adores and loves you, as I'm sure each and every one of your family and friends do as well.
I also lost my own beautiful son at the age of 23, so I know exactly what everyone is going through, and I hope in some small way I can help your family in the future.
Fly high Louis. Condolences to each and every one of you. All my love. Carole xxxxx
