We are heartbroken to say that David passed away on the 6th of August 2020.

As many of you know, Pauline died in April just as David was diagnosed with cancer of the bile duct. It was sadly untreatable and he died peacefully at the Ellenor Hospice after being cared for at home by Lorraine and Debbie.

An amazing husband, father, uncle & Poppa to his grandchildren, David's happiest times were being surrounded by family and friends. David was known as a man who liked to keep your glass full and let the celebration continue.

David and Pauline were so happy to become a mum to Lorraine and Debbie and the later years were filled with joy with the addition of 4 grandchildren, who adored their Poppa.

During these strange times, the funeral will just be for the immediate family.

If you wanted to make a donation we are collecting for the Ellenor Hospice, who looked after dad in his final days.
This is being managed through the funeral home and the attached link.

We will arrange a memorial at a later date to celebrate the parents that we have lost, and to remember the good times.

Please feel free to share with us any memories of the good times you had with Dad. We would love to hear them.

With thanks,
Lorraine & Debbie and families

I have very fond memories of visiting both Pauline and David with my Mum and Dad as we were always greeted with a smile, laugh and a glass of something 😊.. Dave’s laugh was also very infectious and if ever there was any silence, which was rare he would always be on hand to raise a smile ..
love to both Lorraine and Debbie and please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of a very special man..
best wishes
Pete, Rosie, Dan and Nicky xx

I have a lovely memory of meeting your lovely Dad last Christmas Eve around your kitchen table laden with raclette. We chewed the fat with Maurice over the various pros and cons of varifocals!! I was so grateful for their extensive knowledge!!

Dave was such a prominent figure in my life growing up. One of my funniest memories was just before GCSE physics. Spent a whole evening with Dave and Lou doing questions. He was so patient with us! It was only the next day when reflecting on the lesson that he mentioned that he may have been mistaken! He laughingly said that he may have re written the laws of physics last night. Was laughed about those lessons for years to come. Night Mr H. Will be raising a port and brandy to you xx

My best memory of a David was when he and Ian fished Kelly (the dog!) out of a lock in Manchester, using a couple of boat hooks. Looking back I have no idea how they managed to do it but they were very proud of themselves afterwards! A great holiday spent with great people. Happy memories of both Pauline & David. xxx
