Brian was a quiet, considerate and proud man who loved his family dearly and over his 81 years, touched the hearts of many others. Always being there to help if you needed it.
Engineering was in his blood. He followed his father Edmund in to Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company, starting as an apprentice in 1956 and became the Quality Control Manager and was one of the last to leave the company when sold in 1984. He then took the position in Quality Control within Torin-Sifan, with many happy years there until his retirement in 2004.
Brian also took on the mantle from his father Edmund of model making. Creating beautiful working replicas of a Spitfire Mk9 and the PS Waverley paddle steamer along with RC cars and many other boats and airplanes, belonging to many model clubs along the way. He was also passionate about his father's car Ford Capri Consul, taking many years to lovingly restore it so it could also be used at his children's weddings and grandchildren's proms.
With all his fixing and making and creating, Brian was always a family man at heart and the many things he did he did for us. We will dearly miss him being with us, but we will never forget him.
