Benny Pitcher sadly passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on 12th July 2020 at the age of 6, following a 15 month battle with brain cancer (DIPG).Benny was born in Norwich Norfolk on 31st October 2013 to parents, Julie and Kevin Pitcher.
He was a happy, loving child, always fascinated by trains, cars, anything with wheels! He was an animal lover,
enjoyed visiting Zoos and adored his pet kitten Tilly . He proudly stated that he wanted to be a train driver
when he grew up and was fascinated by his local Steam Railway. Benny loved spending time at school with
his many friends and loved taking in his toys for show and tell, many of which greatly amused his teachers!
After Benny was diagnosed with DIPG in 2019, he rarely lost his spirit. His family, friends and local
community arranged many events for him to attend including turning on the Holt, Sheringham and Cromer
Xmas lights. He loved seeing Santa so many times!
He never complained, even when confined to a hospital bed for extended periods, he loved watching funny
animal and prank videos on Youtube laughing away at them. Benny's memory will forever be cherished by his
parents, Julie and Kevin, Brother Brannigan and Sisters Ruby and Rose-anna. Adored Grandson of Brian
Pitcher, Jean Williams and Kevin Elvin, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He will be forever
remembered in theirs and so many peoples’ hearts he has touched.
The funeral service will be held at Cromer Crematorium on Wednesday 5th August at 1pm. Due to the current
situation a private family service will be held. Immediate family flowers only. The Family welcomes attendees
through Cromer town centre from West Street to Mount Street leading to the crematorium for Benny's final
journey, but please follow social distancing rules. Bright colours/superhero costumes and a brightly coloured
balloon/flag welcomed
