Dear Aunt Mavis.
You will be missed by all, both friends and relatives alike. I write this as your nephew of 49 years, with my earliest recollection from the mid 1970's , you teaching my Brother and I ''The Ring a Ring o Roses'' nursery rhyme. The memory remains as no other nursery rhyme entailed an activity of holding hands, walking in a circle and ending with a lowering to the floor.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for being a kind and caring Aunt, and maintaining a close relationship with my Mother (your sister) Gwendoline, through the years. You leave an emptiness in us all.
Thank you for the laughter, which I'm sure you will carry with you. I can see you now saying to Saint Peter at the pearly gates ''Are you going to let me in or what? ''.
God bless you Aunty Mavis, we will all see you on the other side.
From your nephew Lee
