I was so sorry to hear of Gilda's passing. I have fond memories of spending time with her and Louise when I was a child. I had 2 lovely holidays with them on the Isle of 'Wight and remember seeing her play in the orchestra.

Even though I wasn't able to spend much time with Gilda I still have lovely memories from the times I got to enjoy her company. These memories make me feel like I knew her for a long time...
Rest in peace

Rosemarie Lister nee Roccia, who is currently very ill living in France, was sad to hear of Gilda's death. She wishes to be remembered as a most fond cousin and says..."Gilda was like a Mother to me as Tom was a Father. They treated me as such and her loss is like losing a Mother. Thank you for your love and care whilst I was young and growing. Yours affectionately, with many fond memories. Rosemarie"

  • just like to say sad to hear about Gilda and that Rosemarie was my auntie as my Dad Donald Roccia passed away when I was 7 years old and Rosemarie was his sister

Paul Rowlands donated £25 in memory of Gilda

It was with great sadness that we at the Croydon Symphony Orchestra learnt of Gilda's passing, please accept our sincere condolences. She was a tremendously popular member of the orchestra and though I didn't know her well personally, several members have said to me how warm and friendly Gilda had been to them; Astrid in the violins recalled how welcoming Gilda had been when Astrid came to her first rehearsal. And it was lovely to see Gilda at so many concerts in those years after she stopped playing. She was devoted to, and had great enthusiasm for, the orchestra and music making, and she will be greatly missed.
All best wishes, Paul Rowlands (chairman)

Mum......
It will be the little things
that I remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter, the music.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.
