Rick Kilford
(10th January 1940 – 17th June 2020)
Rick Kilford from Southampton, a beloved husband to Jane for over 57 years, devoted dad to Sally and Tina, adored and much loved grandad to Sam, Bryony and Joe.
Dad began his life in Amesbury coming from humble beginnings, his determination and belief that through hard work he could prove people wrong and still succeed, meant that he eventually owned his own successful painting and decorating company.
Dad was a great sports enthusiast playing football at a high level in his younger years, when his footballing legs gave out, he developed a great passion for Golf, especially the 19th hole! He also enjoyed horse racing having the odd flutter.
His hard work meant that he was able to enjoy many Autumns in Florida where he enjoyed laying in the sun, shopping and catching up with old friends.
Sadly, his enjoyment for travel and partying was cut short due to ill health. He endured his illness to the end believing he was invincible and would carry on forever. He will be sadly missed by us all but always remembered in happier and healthier times.

Hello Popsey...it’s only me. “Hello only you” this always made me chuckle, I’m heartbroken I’ll never hear this again. I always wrote ‘to the best Dad in the world’ in your cards, that truly is who you were. Night night god bless. I love you forever XXX

A great day at the cricket. We drank far too much. Ate really bad food and braved some questionable weather.

My fondest memory was of you last April
A proud moment as you walked Sally down the aisle
Was a great day and you looked a proud Dad with Sally on your arm .

I’d also like to thank you for your racing tips when Sally and I went to Newbury races, not many winners but thankful for your advice as we didn’t have a clue what we were doing .
.
Was a pleasure knowing you always a pleasure talking to you over a coffee at Sally’s .
Rest in peace and don’t cause to much havoc up there

I believe this is Peter Vickers on the left, Uncle Pete who later became dads best man when he married my mum, and a very young dad complete with his curly locks!

Dad as a very handsome young man, you were the best dad a girl could ever have. I can’t imagine life without you but know that those we love most never go away and you will continue to walk beside me every single day even though I can’t see you XXXXX
