In loving memory of John Consterdine who sadly passed away at his home in Mirfield on 15th June 2020, aged 73 years. Loving husband of Michelle, dear dad of Andrew and Richard, respected father in law of Vicky and Carmel and cherished grandad of Amy, Megan and Sarah.
Due to the current guidelines a private funeral service will be held at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Thursday 25th June 2020. Family flowers only, Donations in memory of John may be made via this page for the benefit of Kirkwood Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

I first met John when Andy and I became friends at middle school. I knew he was a prison officer and he seemed “very scary”. He wasn’t. Like Andy his bark was worse than his bite. My last memory of him was after another “town” defeat. We were in the Rope Walk. I was slightly intoxicated and he said me to me with a knowing smile “I think you need to go home and see to the dogs. Which really meant “you need to go home”. Sadly I didn’t listen, ended up falling and had huge scratches on my face all over Xmas, Mrs F wasn’t pleased.
I didn’t see him often, but will miss those “knowing comments” when I come down to Huddersfield. RIP John. Xxx
