In loving memory of David George Painter who sadly passed away on 6th June 2020.
Born on 16th March 1948 in Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire, David joined the Navy at an early age and served for 13 years. He later worked for over 25 years as Supplies Manager for Nottingham City Hospital.
A thoughtful and kind man, David was a keen Radio Ham who loved photography, classical music and railway modelling. David is survived by his wife Jie, daughters Claire, Sarah, Emma and Yifei, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as his sister Margaret and brothers Robert and Stuart.
A funeral service for close family and friends will be held on Wednesday 24th June 2020. Flowers may be sent to A.W. Lymn Arnold, or donations to Gervis Pearson Ward, Nottingham City Hospital. Due to the current restrictions on social gatherings, a memorial will be held once restrictions are lifted at a later date.

Dragon, my heart has been broken since 9:20 am on 6th June, I know you’ve gone to heaven and you just couldn’t bear any more of your pain… Our marriage gave me memories too beautiful to forget. Thank you for being my husband for 17 years – too short a time though. No words can express my grief for losing you, as you mean the world to me. I can’t imagine the rest of my life without you… Dragon, I do know how much you love me and I won’t forget your love… I love you and I will always love you! Rest in peace. Yours forever Jie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
