In memory of dear Uncle Stewart. Nothing but happy memories of the times we have spent in your company. You shall be missed. Thanks for your kindness, generosity and laughter. You will always be with us in our hearts and minds. God Bless.

Thank you Uncle Stewart for all of the happy times we have shared with you over the years, you will always have a special place in our hearts. We loved coming to Highlea and our chats over your pre dinner gin and tonics will always be one of our fondest memories. With much love from Matthew, Leanne, Isabella and Olivia.

Your passing will leave a huge void in my life, but you have left me with many happy memories none the less, especially helping you in your huge garden on my visits to Highlea and also cutting up logs for the fire. Your labour on earth is done now rest safe in God's keeping. From your brother Wes.

Dear Stewart, what a shame we were not able to meet more often to exchange with our mutual knowledge of French and Spanish. Our infrequent meetings have always been special and your making the trip for my 80th with Stephen and Alison was very very special. Your beautiful gift on my table is a constant reminder of that happy occasion and our friendship. You will now be reunited with Jean and other loved ones who are already in the arms of our dear Father God. Bless you dear Stewart

We knew Stewart for nearly 4o years. Irene taught at Bideford College & David was chair of governors when Stewart was there. He also taught our daughter. We have enjoyed his company through Probus for the last few years and we will really miss him. Our thoughts are with Stella and the family.

A much loved cousin/uncle with many fond childhood memories. To us, he was a larger than life character and a king pin of our family. We will miss him.

Stewart was a respected and well liked member of Torridge U3A. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his fellow Group Leaders and all those who attended the Groups that he ran. Our condolences to his family at this sad time. Dennis Pavitt, Chair Torridge U3A.

When Stewart was the Chairman of Bideford Probus Club in 2008-9 I was the secretary, and it was a pleasure to partner him. He was a good leader and very caring to vulnerable members and went out of his way to keep in touch with them. He was also very good at telling jokes! He and Stella were very gracious and welcoming hosts to the Arlington Court Monday Team for their annual lunch at Highlea; in fact we thought of Stewart as an "honorary guide"! May he rest in peace and rise in glory.Amen.

Stewart taught me foreign languages at Trinity School, Croydon in the 1960s. He was an excellent teacher, and when I came to study Spanish he fostered in me a love for Golden Age literature which has stayed with me ever since. It was such a pleasure to meet up with him and Stella in the 2000s, when they welcomed me into their home. I shall miss him greatly, and I know his words of wisdom and encouragement will come back to me every time I open 'Don Quijote'.

Always remembered x

Saddened to learn of Stewart's passing. Although we never met, he was the sole connection to my Parsons roots in Cornwall. We corresponded from time to time and I was so thankful that he always took the time to give me news of my English side of the family. My sincere condolances go out to all the family. This Parsons side of the family have been Canadian citizens since birth, residing on Vancouver Isand in the province of British Columbia.

He taught me french in the Geneva building in the early 80s, one of the nicer teachers. His wife also taught french there.
