In loving memory of Sue Pollard who sadly passed away on 12 May 2020. She was a loving wife to her husband Terry and a loyal and caring friend to all who knew her.

Sue worked as a nurse for a total of 35 years in many different roles. She started as a nursing auxiliary and after qualifying as a SEN she gradually worked her way up to her BSc qualification as a clinical nurse specialist. She was by no means a natural student but her passion and perseverance carried her through. She was a Macmillan nurse for a number of years and before she retired she enjoyed her life as a practice nurse.

Her hobbies were many and she especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dressmaking. She was very fond of cats and at one time she and Terry lived in a small bungalow with six cats. In 2010 they added a Westie called Teddy to their animal family and went on many enjoyable walks and cottage holidays with him.

She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015 and underwent various courses of treatment at both Southend Hospital and University College Hospital. She was very brave during this time and refused to dwell on the difficulties involved. She was very fond of saying that she ‘had to keep on keeping on’. She kept on for as long as she could before losing her battle with the illness on 12 May 2020.

In memory of a lovely lady and very special nurse, I worked with Sue both as a DN and when she was a Macmillan nurse, she always had a smile on her face. Taken far too soon RIP Sue xx

This is when we attended the Andre Rieu concert in December 2015. It was Sue’s first major outing after her first course of chemo and she was so determined to make it.She wanted to make the most of the time she had left and she managed another 4.5 years.

I knew Sue as a colleague and a friend. A never ending support when Scott was unwell. Her texts when the Hammers were playing. But mostly remember being one of "her girls" and the laughs we had working in the community. Rest well lovely lady

I'm so sorry Sue's passed away Tel, and that I can't be there on the 16th. There are a lot of good memories and laughs for me and in my mind she's still sewing away in your conservatory, whizzing along with the machine and with the sun still shining down on her. Rest in Peace Sue, you'll never be forgotten. Den xx

Sue and I knew each other for 30 years. We worked together at one time and became the best of friends. We shared so many happy memories and enjoyed several wonderful holidays together. Sue, you will be sadly missed.

I'm very sad to hear of your loss Terry. Cancer is very insidious. Let's hope we will have a cure soon.
