Philip John Otter (9 Dec 1946 - 16 May 2015)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of the late Philip John Otter who sadly passed away on 16th May 2015
Loving Husband father and step dad
Phil spent most of his life working as a HGV 1 driver until an accident at work forced him to take early retirement '!!
Since then he suffered first with the shoulder repair ( caused by the accident at work) then septic arthritis and finally a shoulder replacement but this was never a success and troubled him greatly. He also suffered many symptoms of CREST Syndrome. However we did manage lots of holidays abroad in Spain, Tennerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria fuertaventura, Majorca, Malta, Cyprus and finally Corfu, where we fell in love with Roda.
In November last year he was diagnosed with Cryptogenic Cirrhosis of the Liver (which is thought to have been caused by the excessive use if antibiotics during his treatment for Septic Shoulder and the replacement which went on for 3 months or more) since then he has gradually deteriorated until the last week when he went down hill fast.
Ann and I were with him when he passed away and it was really very peaceful, the nurses and doctor on ward F21 at QMC Were very kind.
Phil spent quite a lot of time there in the last 3 or 4 months and all his nurses loved him to bits and said he was a real gentleman and it had been an honour to have known him.
Phil was my husband, my best friend and my soulmate, I don't know how I will cope without him, but Ann (my daughter) who will also miss him greatly will no doubt get me through it with the help of some truly great friends at Milton Court...
R.I.P. My darling Phil love you always XXXXXX
