In loving memory of David Arthur Coleman who sadly passed away on 21st May 2020 at Parklands Nursing Home.

David was a wonderful husband to Brenda, a doting father to Hazel and Debbie, a football-mad father-in-law to Antony, a very proud grandfather to Lucy and Tilly and a friend to everyone.

Born and bred in London, David knew the streets of London like the back of his hand (so he told us!) having been a Natwest bank messenger. In 1975, David and Brenda finally made the decision to move to Leigh On Sea where they made their lifelong friends.

Having volunteered at Southend Hospital for over ten years, David accumulated a whole mass of friends. You could never go anywhere without someone popping up and saying ‘hello David’. David loved nothing more than cycling over to his beloved allotment and bringing home his strawberries and tomatoes before settling down to watch Escape to the Country with a hand in the sweetie bowl.

David spent his last few months at the brilliant Parklands Nursing Home in Benfleet. If you would like to send a donation in David’s name, please send your donation to the following address with a note saying ‘In memory of David Coleman’: Parklands Nursing Home, 21-27 Thundersley Park Road, Benfleet, Essex, SS7 1EG. We are aware that with everything going on at the moment money is tight for some, so please don’t feel obligated if you can’t. If you would prefer to send a donation directly to us, we can pass it on for you.

We will miss him lots but know that he will always be looking after ‘his girls’.
