In loving memory of Robin Janaway who sadly passed away on 17th May 2020 aged 86 years.
Our dad was born in Romsey in Hampshire in 1933, he met his wife(our mum) whilst doing national service, they married in 1953 and moved to papplewick to be near her family. They went on to have 9 children. Dad went and worked on a farm until the late 80s and then went to work at calverton pit until he had to leave to look after our mum, he cared for her for 40yrs whilst looking after his children and working, until she sadly passed away in October 2016. Shortly after this dad suffered a heart attack which started a downward spiral of underlying health issues.
We could not be more proud of our dad than we are. He taught us the value of being kind to everyone, to work hard, to share and be grateful for what we have, and always find the positive in any given situation. He was the most loving dad, so kind, caring, thoughtful, sometimes mischievous, always there for us. I don’t think I ever heard him complain, no matter what happened, especially during the last 6 weeks of his life. We will never meet a braver person.
He’s going to be missed so much by so many people.
We have chosen the paramedics for just giving as they were so good and treated our dad and ourselves with such dignity, care and compassion on every call out, even when they knew he had contracted Covid they still went above and beyond staying with our dad at the hospital until he had been admitted and settled because we couldn’t go with him. They then called us to put our minds at ease. They’re an amazing team and deserve so much recognition, we know our dad would be so pleased for them to be able to receive a donation.
