A black cloud has descended and it's blocked the light
The stars have been turned out, it's permanent night
I am sailing a ship with no rudder or sails
And walking barefoot on a path strewn with nails

Our plans for the future no longer exist
And your beautiful lips I can no longer kiss
Your brave battle is over, at last you've found rest
Quiet honestly Erica, you were the best

A wonderful mother, grandmother and friend
You were loving and kind and a joy to the end
I'm now left alone, a strange journey to start
But you'll always be with me, you're etched in my heart

Bless you......Farewell

Pete

My early memories of my big sis were of her playing loud music (probably Jimi Hendrix or the Rolling Stones) and dancing like a crazy person. She was a big influence on my love of music and when she was out I would play her records. Despite the age gap, as we got older we became closer and music was always a common interest - a love that we will always share. Love you Ric xx

The many walks and trips we did together in East Anglia, the Yorkshire Dales (photo), the Peaks and the Eifel area not far from Aachen will always be remembered. We admire you, Erica, for your creativity, your sense of humour and your braveness. Although we could meet only once per year, we are friends forever.
With love Astrid, Harald and Knightly

I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful Mother, full of love and joy. You will always be in my heart and the hearts of my family and we will always remember the things you did with us. I had the important parts of my life with you and although cut short I could not have asked for more. It is for the grandchildren that saddens me most, they were robbed early of the most amazing woman. Witnessing from the sidelines the way you held Olly's attention by sharing your love, creativity and joy even when you did not have much strength left in your hands was something to behold. It breaks my heart to think that Harrison will miss out on these memories. I will try my best to emulate some of the wonderful things you did. Rest in peace now Mum, we will never forget you.

Thank you for telling Steve he should phone in sick to work so we could go on our first date. That advice changed our lives.

Thank you for welcoming me into your family as warmly as you did.

Thank you for knocking up all those fancy dress costumes, bear outfits and dresses.

Thank you for your kindness and love.

Thank you for raising such a good son in Steve (Chris and Phil are pretty good too). He is an amazing husband and dad and that is down to you (and Pete) .

Thank you for being a wonderful grandma to Oliver and Harrison, your imagination and talent knew no bounds.

Thank you for being my friend.

Love you.

Erica... a loving Auntie who will be sadly missed. I have many fond memories of you from over the years, you were always there for me which meant a lot. I remember the funky clothes you used to make for us in loud colours and love all of your wonderful paintings which I am lucky enough to have some of which will always remind me of you. Such a kind hearted lady, always smiling, cheerful, positive and very talented. You touched the lives of so many people. Life can be so cruel, they say they always take the best and they certainly did when you left us. We’ll look out for Uncle Pete and the rest of the family. Hope you’re dancing in the sky. Rest in peace Auntie Erica, love and miss you always. Love Scott, Emma, Kacey & Jack xxx
