When I was about 8 years old (I'm 51) I was at home everyone else was out, being an inquisitive yound man for some unknown reason I pressed the switch? Inside the freezer! And it turned off and started to defrost! In my panic I rode my push bike to uncle Pips house (Lonsdale Road) and told him what I had done, he put my bike in his car and took me home where he fixed the Freezer and made everything right he also said don't tell anyone it will be our secret!
No one knew that until today thanks Pip!
I have lots of happy memory's of Uncle Pip, he was a great uncle and a gentle man in every sense of the word. X

  • For me you were always 'Uncle Bugsy'. The name stemmed from my inability as a toddler to pronounce 'Brubsy'. The name stuck. If I were to describe you in one word it would be 'supportive'. Whether it was coaching me through my Maths 'O' level (you were beautifully patient but no doubt silently despairing!) or being an unbelievable rock to my Mum and I after the death of my dear Dad and it is especially for this I want to thank you xxx

To: Uncle Pip, thinking of you and the gardening you loved. I think it rubbed off. I still have some plant seeds left over you once posted to me ages ago. I also remember starting up your petrol mower with Christopher as kids! Probably without permission. We loved the engine noise and smell it made.
