Marguerite Morgan (27 Jan 1928 - 22 Apr 2020)
In loving memory of Marguerite Morgan, who sadly passed away on 22nd April 2020. Marguerite lived with her mum and dad, Dorothy and Len, and two brothers, the older one Ray and the younger brother was the late Len.
The three were evacuated and enjoyed the countryside and making new friends before returning home. Marguerite was 14, the same year that she left school to work in a flour mill factory. She went on to become a supervisor/charge hand at ICI, where she stayed until she retired.
Marguerite met her husband-to-be Don at a dance, and they continued to dance together until he died. Their favourite dance was a slow foxtrot, hence her brother and sister-in-law's, Ray and Joan, choice of music for her funeral - I'll See You in my Dreams, sung by Doris Day and Let's Face the Music and Dance (Nat King Cole).
Marguerite and Don married, at Birmingham Registry Office, in 1963 and they had a very happy life together. Her brother Len lived with them for a while and Marguerite visited him regularly when he went into a care home. She called Len her baby.
As well as dancing, Marguerite loved socialising, going to church, gardening and caring for Billy, the long-living tortoise. She and Don both loved animals, hence the family's chosen charity for any donations is the RSPCA.
When Marguerite was first ill, and tired of battling, even she loved her brother Ray, the family, the friends she had made and life, she said she just wanted to be with Don and Len. Now she is.
