I have the fondest memories of my time spent helping to care for Ron. He always expressed his appreciation for all I tried to do to help. A genuinely lovely man,it was a pleasure to have known him.

In loving memory of Ronald Priestley who sadly passed away on 4th May 2020.
Ronald David Priestley was born in Lincoln in 1925 and attended Hannah Memorial Methodist Church until conscripted for the Army at the age of 18. His final Army posting in 1946 was to Singapore where Rev Jack Christian encouraged him to offer for the Ministry. All necessary examinations and trial services were conducted in Singapore under the direction of the Rev Dennis Hearle.
He was released in 1947 just in time to attend a specially convened committee at the Newcastle Conference where he was received and directed to the Garstang Circuit for two years pre-collegiate service. This was followed by two years years at Wesley College, Headingley. From there he was sent to Spilsby where he met and married Mary in 1954. She supported him throughout the rest of his Ministry. Together they were stationed in Scunthorpe, Louth, Alford, Gainsborough and Holbeach from where they retired in 1989 spending a further nine years in the town before returning to Spilsby. He died on 4th May 2020 in the 96th year of his age and the 71st year of his Ministry.
For anyone who wishes to make a donation in memory of Ron via this site, “All We Can” is the operating name of The Methodist Relief & Development Fund.
