In loving memory of Maisie Fruen who sadly passed away on 27th April 2020. Mum was a real Bermondsey girl. She was the eleventh of twelve children and the last one remaining. She was quiet, bright, wise, generous and kind. She began walking out with my Dad, Tom, during the war and they married in 1947. I came along in 1955 and was born in Lucey Road where we then lived. They were very happy and Mum was devastated when Dad died in 1992. Mum trained as a ladies tailor but did different factory jobs working in Atkinsons and Shuttleworth amongst others. For the past 28 years she lived in Amina Way, shopping down The Blue. She was content with her life and said she had no regrets. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

I am unable to attend your funeral but my thoughts will be with you. I have many lovely memories of staying overnight at your place when I was a child. Many, many happy times with you, Jean and Uncle Tom and his fabulous dad jokes. Godspeed Aunt Maisie.xxxx

I met you in November 2003 when i started to visit you from Times and Talents has a befriender, i later learnt from you that you remembered my Mum from the school gates at Peckham Park, where you took Richard and Oliver and said you remembered me in my pram, we both shared an interest for Rod Stewart and loved listening to him from time to time together, nodding our heads and tapping our feet and me singing out of tune, I loved you has a friend but also has my Nan, you always lifted my spirits and brighten my days with all the stories you told and i always looked forward to our weekly visit, you will be sadly missed and never forgotten, bye for now until we meet again. Love you Maisie x
