In loving memory of June Corner who sadly passed away on 27th April 2020 aged 90.
The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday 12th May at 1pm in Taunton. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current Corona Virus regulations, numbers are restricted to 25 attendees. If you are not a family member but would be interested in attending, please contact Paul Corner via email; lewannickpaul@gmail.com to find out if there are any spaces available. Thank you.
You may not be aware that several years ago June decided that she wanted to become a Jehovah's Witness. It was her wish that she be cremated with a Jehovah's Brother presiding over the service. I believe that this is a relatively simple and fairly short service.
The chosen charity is in memory of June's husband who was afflicted with this horrible condition for many years before his passing in 2014.

I was truly blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law. Always kind and with a great sense of humour, you accepted and loved us just as you found us, and we could be ourselves with you without being judged. You will always be loved.

I Can’t Look at You

I can’t look at you, I can’t look at your storm washed eyes,
And Madonna lips, not your unchained response, to the twilight ships
That slip away, with the night eclipse, I cant give you your dreams, I’ve no
White charger to ride, and I can’t hide this world away from you.
And the shadows you talk to, will not muster an army, to cluster in rings,
And protect the illusions, to which your life clings. No, the sentinel stars, cannot call on the tide, to give up the ashes of yesterdays promise.
For between every candle, there’s a ghost to please, and each flower
Has closed, to await the dawn’s kiss, well this stage this arena, will not
Welcome your song, and your tears don’t belong, to the pools that collect
Them, to reflect in the eyes, of the fools who can’t find them,
And you long for an answer, to the cold winds caress, to be left alone
With your thoughts, as you bury your confession, in the folds of your
Dress

This is not the night for tomorrow.

Not for invites, or magic, that lies
In the mirror of some forgotten relic, your cradle of sorrow, cannot
Wait on the carousel lights that would clothe you in the laughter, of
Waltzing rivers, and spiralling swallows, the courting of dragonflies and
Waking squirrels.

I wrote this a while ago not for you but for another. But it feels that this is how it was before the very last I saw of you.

And now I slip past tomorrow back to ‘a la ronde’ where wonder waits for laughter, ice-cream, mum and dad, my brothers and seaside shells (that I can’t say very well).

I cannot look at you, you are in my heart.

Tim

I was so grateful to June for the gift of her friendship, and will miss her company and conversation, her laughter, her calm, good sense and the benign, intelligent interest she took in everyone and everything. She was always kind and compassionate, loved to talk about her many happy memories yet still lived very much in the present with lots of plans for the future. I have lit a candle for her, but she lit one for me too. T hank you, June, and love always. Irene. x
