Alvyn Cooling (10 May 1947 - 21 Apr 2020)

In loving memory of Alvyn Cooling who sadly passed away on 21st April 2020. Loving Dad and father in Law of Marie and Simon, Mark and Hannah. Grandad to Georgia, Abbie, Harvey, Marcus and Logan.

Alvyn was the eldest of 3 brothers and grew up on Elizabeth road, Newark. He started his apprenticeship at Worthington simpsons as a pump fitter and retired after working there for 52 years. Alvyn played football from a young age starting at Worthington simpsons, Newark Fc, Lincoln City and Rainworth miners welfare Fc...FOOTBALL WAS HIS LIFE! He supported Manchester United all his life and he enjoyed going to watch them when he had the chance, he would go to see any football match as he loved the game so much, he enjoyed watching his grandson Harvey play from a young age Until he became ill.
Alvyn also was a keen darts player around Newark and also enjoyed going to horse racing meetings, he enjoyed having a bet every weekend.
Every weekend for a number of years he worked behind the bar at the Ram Hotel since the 1980’s and also the Cardinals Hat until it closed. He will be missed by many people.
