I am sad to say I have only just been told of Paul's death, he was a fantastic guy who taught me a lot in my first ever sales role! Paul at the time was sales director for the company and I remember him being so professional and so very funny with it!

Although it is many years since I last spoke with Paul I am truly so glad our paths in life crossed and I am so very sad to think our paths will not cross again in this lifetime. Thanks for everything you taught me and for being the truly brilliant and inspirational man you were.

Uncle Paul,

Although words continue to fail me and I can never quite express the sorrow, just know we all miss you more with every passing day, and think about you constantly. Throughout my life you’ve always been a constant by my dad’s side, and in turn felt like somewhat of a father figure to me. I know just how deeply mum and dad grieve you, how deeply we all do. Your vibrant character and outlandish personality had the unique ability to fill any and all rooms, and we miss it daily. Whilst life was never easy, your wicked sense of humour never failed you; through the lows your jokes always prevailed. As football starts back up, I know it’s tinged with bitterness for my dad as he’s faced with going to matches without you. My heart breaks not only for myself, but for my family, and my cousins who I know will be missing their dad today despite everything. The loss seems insurmountable, and the sheer weight of grief something I could have never quite expected, but know as time passes, our memory of you does not. As always, it is never goodbye, only see you later.

Love always, your loving niece xxxx

“How do we grow
If you're not moving with us?
Constantly dark
Time will move in our favor
They'll never know
But they just keep on asking when
We're down here hurting
From our broken heart
Trying to figure out
How this is real
'Cause you're never coming back down
You belong to the stars in the clouds
Goodbyes, good times
L-O-V-E was all for you
If you didn't say your goodbyes
Don't worry, love will bear it through”

Uncle Paul,
I’ve been trying to find the perfect words to say to you, to say about you, but something tells me there aren’t any perfect enough. We all miss you more with every passing day, and think about you constantly. I’ve never known a world without you in it until now, and it’s a very sad one. I’ll always remember the holidays and your wicked sense of humour, your year-round tan, wearing shorts in March at the first glint of sun, the flashiest watches you could imagine, and your ability to pull off any pink or yellow outfit. Your unique personality and presence had the ability to fill any room and leave those in it unable to contain their laughter. The outpouring of love and sadness over your loss is a testament to your genuine nature and loyalty as a friend. I’ll never tire of hearing mum and dad’s endless stories about you, always with a smile on their face. I know just how deeply they both miss you, and saw the pain they endured on the day you left, mamma too... I hope you know how loved you were. How loved you are. Thank you for being my uncle and godfather, it breaks my heart that I’ll never hear you say ‘ayup chick’ again and get a kiss on the cheek. I hope you’ve found your peace and are sunbathing in your speedos with a nice cold pint in your hand. Tomorrow we say goodbye for now, but not forever. Until we are all reunited again, enjoy yourself and know we miss you down here. Love always, your loving niece, Ella xxxxx

“How could we know
That there wouldn't be tomorrow?
No birds will sing
But the bells will ring for you
So far to go
But you've already reached the light
Your new beginning
Chapters are written out for you
Down here they're hurting
From a broken heart
Trying to figure out
How this is real
'Cause they're never coming back down
They belong to the stars in the clouds
Goodbyes, good times
L-O-V-E was all for you
If you didn't say your goodbyes
Don't worry, love will power through” - Jorja Smith, ‘Goodbyes’

Uncle Paul, you've been such a large part of my life and feature in so many of my happy memories growing up. From teaching me to BBQ in your garden, to our annual bike ride's round Center Parcs, to all the amazing holidays in Majorca & Ibiza. You could be so warm and funny, and I'm so thankful to have had you as my Uncle. I hope you're sat in the sunshine, dressed brightly and making everyone around you smile. Missing you, Dane.
