In loving memory of Richard Charles Parkman Proctor who sadly passed away on 9th April 2020 following COVID-19 complications.
Player of bridge, collector of horse racing prints, keen walker, bird enthusiast and a man with a passion for numbers, Richard touched the lives of many with his gentle and kind manner.
Born in South Africa and with some of his early childhood spent in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), Richard realised his long-held wish to return to South Africa shortly before he died. The attached photo of Richard with an elephant was on his camera, and has brought a smile to the faces of grandchildren and children alike.
With thanks to all the staff at East Surrey Hospital for caring for Richard over the last two weeks of his life, when family could not do so.
Although many of us cannot be at his funeral, Richard will be fondly remembered by his sons (Douglas and David), grandchildren (Astrid, Zac, Saskia & Jack), step-children (Tina and David) and step-grandchildren (Emma and Rachel), as well as by his first and second wives, sister and cousins.

We are so sad to hear about Richard and our hearts go out to his family. He was a man of integrity with many gifts that he used to benefit others. He was a very welcome addition to our Church family, taking part in social activities and giving wise counsel when needed. We miss him.
