In loving memory of Janet Elizabeth Atkinson who sadly passed away at home following a short illness with her husband Chris at her side on 7th April 2020 aged 56 years.

Janet was the youngest of 3 children of the late Len and Kath, sister to Peter and John, and dearly beloved wife, best friend and sole mate of Chris.

Janet recently retired from Aviva after 37 years, and after living in and around York for most of her life recently moved to Dunston in Lincolnshire with so many plans for a new lifestyle which were so cruelly cut short.

Due to the current restrictions, the funeral at Lincoln Crematorium is family only, however once things return to normal will look to arrange something to remember Janet by.

Kieran Walsh donated £20 in memory of Janet

So sorry for your loss, Chris. Kieran.

Janet was such a great work colleague - I had the privilege of working with her several times over the years and she was unfailingly kind-hearted, smiley, gracious, pragmatic and generous with her time and wisdom. She will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to you Chris that your retirement plans together were so tragically cut short.

Have known Cousin Janet since our childhood and then met up again in Lincolnshire two years ago when we heard about the plans she and Chris had for retirement. What a sad outcome, such a lovely person. Happy to donate to the Hospice in her memory.

Janet was clever, kind and funny with a contagious smile and a twinkle in her eyes. She brightened so many lives and it's so hard to believe she's gone so soon. Chris, I hope you will treasure the many happy memories of your years together.

We were able to watch Janet's funeral today via the Webcast, which we are very grateful for, so "Thank you" to everyone who made that possible.

We also have many memories of Janet, all of which bring a smile to my lips when I think of them. The way she would make a funny comment at work and then make herself scarce as I struggled not to laugh; the playing of the kazoo and humming tunes when we played 'Spot the Intro'; the fact that she knew all the words to "Pointy bird, pointy, pointy"; the stories of trips to France and the conversations with the neighbours; watching fireworks to "Le Petit Prince" in Paris with total incomprehension (and Janet telling a Parisian woman who asked what was happening "C'est une spectacle!", which seemed to satisfy her). So many happy memories.

We can't believe you are gone, Janet. But you will never be forgotten.

Lots of love to Chris. xx
