I used to work with Karen and will remember her for our chats and jokes we shared. She made me laugh and was a lovely lady, although she would say I am no lady but she was.
RIP Karen

So very, very sad to hear of Karen's passing. Her sharp whit and sense of humour gave us many an afternoon giggling at our desks. Karen was such a warm and caring person and I will never forget the comfort and support she gave me when my mum was diagnosed with cancer - understanding completely how I felt. May you rest in peace Karen. I'll remember you always xx

I met Karen @ work in the late 80s. I was situated in a basement office in a Victorian building, Karen's dept was based @ one of the schools. Karen's dept then moved into our building. Karen would come & lunch with us every day...we would eat & listen to music...The other day I came across an old photo we took one xmas but now that i wish to upload it, i cannot locate it😔. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Karens passing. My sincere condolences go out to her family. May Karen rest in eternal peace🙏🏽

Dear Karen,

You will be greatly missed by very many people for many different things. For me, it will be your good humour and kindness. We often shared a laugh in the office and I will always remember you with fondness for brightening so many of my days.

Karen was my Mum’s, Sylvia, god daughter and someone I have know for as long as I can remember. She used to come and stay with Mum for a holiday. I remember her As kind and good fun to be with. She had a big laugh and a big heart. She made me a little rabbit in a lovely dress when I was young, a toy I cherished for years. She played lots of games with Mum like scrabble that Mum loved. As Mum has got older, Karen stayed more in touch with me so she could know how Mum was. I know that she will be much missed as she was a very dear god daughter and friend xx

Karen and I first met when I started working in payroll and Karen came to collect the payslips. We became friends and when she subsequently left the company we kept in touch. Karen was so big hearted she helped me enormously when I took on a new role at work, I was amazed and overwhelmed by her willingness and desire to help me with a role she knew so well and I was now doing but didn’t. We have always kept in touch over the years, not as often as we liked, but it was one of those lovely relationships where you pick up where you left off. Karen was so good to talk to, you could always have a good discussion, she had strong opinions but she was always open minded and inclusive in her views. Karen had such a big heart, even in hospital, no matter how poorly she was feeling she was looking out for other patients on the ward, worrying about her visitors, worrying about feeling sleepy and it being rude, worrying about everyone else. I find it hard to believe Karen is physically gone from us, she had so many plans, we had plans of things we would do together. Karen has been in my life for over thirty years, a friendship that meant a lot to me and one I will always cherish. One of those friendships that you feel made you a better person for knowing them. Karen will always be with us in our hearts and minds. God bless you Karen, I miss you. My heart goes out to your family who I know meant so much to you. X
