Dear all.
It's with great sadness we say Beryl Gladwin nee Parker, born on 29 December 1935 in New Whittington, Chesterfield passed away on 24 March 2020. Beryl, aged 84, leaves behind her much loved, husband Derek and two children, Alison and Simon, their partners Andrew and Christine, sister Marilyn, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 8 nephews and nieces.
Beryl lived in Winster, Elton and Darley Dale in Derbyshire and then in Washingborough, Branston, Heighington and North Hykeham in Lincolnshire.
Throughout her life she had a successful career in nursing working at Scarsdale Hospital in Chesterfield, Whitworth Hospital at Darley Dale, then private nursing and Lincoln County Hospital. Along with Derek she also helped to run the village shop and post office in Elton for 13 years.
Derek and Beryl were married for over 62 years and had a full and happy family life and enjoyed spending time with their many friends.
Beryl was an active member of every community she was in, both locally and as part of her church. She will be very sadly missed by Derek, her family and friends.
Please do not use the Attendance tab as due to the Covid 19 situation only immediate family are allowed to attend the funeral. We will be holding a memorial service at a later date to celebrate Beryls life and allow all friends and family to pay their respects in person.
As much as Beryl loved flowers it is not currently possible to send them, so please make any donations to Macmillan Cancer Support via the links on this page.
Best wishes
Derek, Alison and Simon
