To my childhood friend. Rest well Eddie. Thoughts are with mum and dad and the girls. Too many good memories..of Steve and Ken..they truly were action men! Quo and Thin Lizzy, of Best man falls and camping out the back but never making it fully through the night...

No words will ever convey how much you will be missed. You were a big part of our lives growing up, you were best friends with Stephen our brother for around 47 years. Safe journey Eddie. Fly High X

Eddie was not only a friend through work for the last 20 years, he was my co-conspirator in organising our Thursday-night five-a-sides game, and it was his love of playing and relentless enthusiasm that made it what it was. Our first game back when the virus allows will be in his memory, as will be every other thereafter, although it will never quite be the same without his mystifying resources of energy, his vintage football tops, his infectious smile and his earnest approach to everything he encountered. You’ll be missed, Eddie, but also remembered as fondly as you treated others.

What a great loss to all of us who were lucky enough to know you and call you a friend Eddie. I only knew for a year since starting my new job but I instantly felt like I had known you forever. We had some good chats and laughs and I will hold these dear to me. Sleep well. Miss you loads. Elaine x

Ages since I’ve seen Eddie. Of the few situations we bumped into each other latterly it was that smile that I remember most.
My regulars and frequent contact with him goes back a while and was through the Militant and the LPYS in both of which he played a terrific role. Always first to help in whatever situation he could. Far too young to go. Condolences to his family.

I’ve so many happy memories from back in 80’s of Eddie, his sister Mary and big Stephen all with sing songs entertaining the late bus from George Square back to Pollok on a regular basis.
Eddie and I lost touch over the years but I will always remember his as a diamond geezer with true passion and commitment to his principles.
