Gordon Leslie Briers (25 Jun 1935 - 4 May 2015)

In loving memory of the late Gordon Leslie Briers who sadly passed away on 4th May 2015
Gordon was born in Peterborough 25th June 1935, living in Eye and Old Fletton, Siblings Carl (deceased) Joan (deceased) Jean (deceased) Edna and Sheila.
Occupations have involved a couple of stints on the railway, Royal Navy (12 years), Merchant Navy-single 6 month trip to Saigon, VietNam in 1968/69 during the conflict there. Bus driving (passed his driving test on a double decker bus!), & HGV driving.
Married Gwen Briers with whom he had one child, Greg.
Gwen & Gordon later divorced, but were friends until Gordons passing.
Gordons long term partner of 28 years, Margaret sadly passed in 2013, following Margarets passing, Gordons health had been a bit of a roller coaster ride.
To anyone that knew Gordon, they would say he could be very opinionated, but a hard worker always quick to help, and well known for his quick witted jokes (not always p.c. !). He enjoyed life as best he could, seeing the world not only in the Navy (living in Hong Kong for 2 years, where Greg was born), but also enjoying holidays abroad with Margaret and his last 2 alone.
He leaves a son, Greg and and Grandchildren Ashley & Tia
