Donald 'Don' Herbert Gordon Nicholls (3 Nov 1940 - 19 Mar 2020)

In loving memory of Donald 'Don' Herbert Gordon Nicholls who sadly passed away on 19th March 2020
As many of you will know Don fought a long brave battle against Mesothelioma over the last 2 years, a battle that sadly came to an end in Fair Havens Hospice.He had had several admissions to hospital but that wasn't the place he wanted to spend his final weeks / days, Mum managed to get him home for over a week where he was settled and happy looking out on his garden and being visited by family and friends, sadly his condition deteriorated and both Don and Mum needed the support of the Hospice, this proved to be a "God send" for both of them. Don was extremely well cared for and Mum was able to be with him at the end and she too was cared for and supported by the Hospice Team.
We now think of Don in a happier place, enjoying his fishing, gardening and relaxing in the Barbadian sunshine, where as a family we will go at some point to share his ashes in a place both Don and Mum loved.
Sadly Don's funeral has taken place on 7th April 2020 and due to the Coronavirus situation we were unable to hold a "proper" funeral.
Mum would like to hold a celebration of Don's life when we are able to socialise again and get back to some normality, we will send out notification of this when this is arranged and we would welcome Don's friends and family to attend and share their thoughts, stories and memories of his life.
