In loving memory of Raymond Devlin who sadly passed away on 29th February 2020.
A true gentleman in every sense of the word. He adored his wife and was very proud of each of his children. His grandchildren were the light in his life. He was actively involved in their lives from very early age. Nursery runs, playgroup pickup. A favourite with many little ones as he guided them across roads and gave them the Papa Christmas smile. Even once they were all in school, papa could be relied on to appear outside church on a school mass to stop traffic and guide them across the road.

My dad has had a very unsettled childhood, which is why he was so proud of his family. In and out of homes and children's homes until he was 14 and was permanently fostered by the Nicholson family.
In his 20s he joined the RAF and spent time working in Singapore, Northern Ireland, Germany, England and Scotland. He met my mum in RAF Spittlegate in 1967 and by February 1968, they were married and living in Singapore. In 1972 whilst stationed in N. Ireland they became parents to Mark and Michael. 8 years later, along came ShonaMarie, followed shortly by Andrew.

As you all know, my dad loved to be needed. He was willing to love and support wherever it was required. Please remember his wonderful hugs, his cheeky kisses on the hand and his kindness to all.

Shona-Marie, I was at mass this morning at St Andrews and was thinking of your mum and dad, so sad to hear of his passing. He was a true gent and incredible character- what brought us even closer was that I’m from Lisburn. Mum and dad knew him well as they came to mass when they visited me. I for one will never forget him. RIP Ray xx

Jonathan, Sharon and I extend our sincere condolences to you all on Rays passing. We remember, with great appreciation, the ‘instant’ support we all received when Jack died so soon after our arrival in Scotland. The family that prays together, stays together and we are confident that your shared love will help you now. It was a pleasure to know him. Xx

My thoughts are with you all, god rest old mate, Paddy was a gentleman, couldn't do enough for anyone. There's an old military saying, "Old servicemen never die, they just fade away." See you in the MT in the sky.

Lana and Family,
Thinking about you all at this very sad time. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have so many fond memories of times spent with you, Ray and family in Germany. He was a kind, caring and loving man, and it was easy to see how much he loved you all. Another angel has his wings. Soar with the angels Ray. R.I.P.
Much Love
