In loving memory of Francis Christopher Viner who sadly passed away on 15th February 2020 aged 86 years.
Frank was born on April 18th, 1933. Frank was one of 10 born to James and Margaret in Gorton, Manchester. Frank joined the RAF as a Steward in 1951 and after training, was posted to St Mawgan in Cornwall. It was there he met Irene Shortman and they married in 1953. He briefly left the RAF in 1954 but rejoined a year later and transferred to Air Traffic Control in 1959 for a long career that took him to Germany, Singapore and Aden as well as bases all over the UK. Frank and Irene had 5 children, Christopher, Yana, Jennifer, Ian and Margaret. Irene sadly passed aged 39 in 1972 and Frank left the RAF shortly after, heading back up to Manchester. After the RAF, he worked for the Department of Welfare and Pensions as well as a rehab physio and local council worker. in his later years, Frank moved to Bardney and took up village life in his stride. He quickly made friends in the village and took on the role of maintaining the IX Sqn memorial in Bardney after the long term custodian passed away. Frank will be greatly missed by his children as well as his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
