In loving memory of Robert ‘Bobby’ Jukes who sadly passed away on 11th February 2020.
‘Bob’ was quite a quiet and proud man. A man who had a passion for his children and grandchildren along with his passion for his wife, and Norway. Berit added the Norway element, and it was something that Bob loved in all ways. Whether it be his widened and extended family there, or the pure white snow - he loved it all and it loved him.
Bob was proud of his 3 children, Mark, Becky & Sonia. He was equally proud with all of his 5 grandchildren - Kristine, Kristian, Harriet, Natasha & the youngest, Sofie. All brought a smile to his face in different ways, on different days.
His enjoyment of his time in the RAF was a memory he would often smile at. Remembrance and respect for all those that served his country never left him. Experiences that left him with a rised smile at the mere mention of anything.
He spent many years around cars, and he enjoyed them more than most - a man thing, but something he passed on to his son & grandson and that is a certainty.
Watching his grandson playing football for 10 years for Southampton FC was something he later came to enjoy. Visiting some of the top clubs and watching the games was always something he loved to do. It reminded him of a similar path his son took playing Ice Hockey, where he was accepted as part of that journey amongst other players that enjoyed him.
Norway was a true passion. He loved the place, and was fortunate to have his daughter and family based there to give good reason to travel with Berit - which they did. Bob often spent a white Christmas there, as much as he did a nice warm summer in the mountains or at the lake. Meeting family and enjoying the warmth shown to him.
Bob had a fine time, that we know. He wasn’t ever lavish but knew how to enjoy the basic things in life.
May he now rest peacefully in the knowledge that those left behind are proud to have had the pleasure of his company, in many different ways. Wherever you are ‘Bobby’ have a drink for us all - and enjoy it. You deserve a rest from us now.
