I worked with Steve at BSI for over 10 years and he was a wonderful and caring person. He supported me after my illness in 2012 and use to collect me from home to take me to meetings or Clients premises. We use to have long conversations about many subjects and sometimes I did not have a large input because of his energy and enthusiasm. I also like cycling but I was put to shame when I followed Steve's routes that he posted on facebook.

We have just learned of the sad passing of Steve and on behalf of everyone who he worked with over the many years at JCB through his BSI visits, I would like to express my heart felt condolences to his family and friends. Steve helped pioneer the health, safety, environmental and quality standards at JCB and he has left a lasting legacy on our organisation that will go on into the future.

An audit from BSI was always a pleasant experience when Steve was conducting it and I looked forward to the days he was due to visit. We shared a personal connection with cycling, had many discussions on the topic and followed each-others progress on Strava. I always admired his passion and loved hearing his cycling stories from abroad. I will miss him dearly.

We are all truly devastated and in these darkest of times I hope his family and friends can find peace and celebrate his life knowing that he touched people far beyond the reaches of his closest family and friends and safe in the knowledge that he will always be remembered.

Steve achieved so much, he had many passions in life, he had a passion for his family- he would often talk about Sue, Angie, Josh and Gracie. He had a passion for Health and Safety in the workplace in which he influenced the international standards writing in this arena. He also had a passion for cycling which he had great enthusiasm for. I believe this helped make him a truly happy man which you can see in the photos here - I hope his family can take solace from. I wish his family courage and strength to face the future without him. RIP Steve X

I still can't believe it...
but whilst we mourn I pray that we will also celebrate a great life lived.

Steve was a unique character who always strove to do better at everything he did whilst somehow still remaining content.
He always told the truth without being hurtful.
He would discuss serious topics at great length but still maintain a great sense of fun!
He could spend hours alone, but loved his family time with a passion too.
Just a truly genuine top bloke - and a treasured friend that I will miss greatly.
