The best brother one could have had - always there for his brothers, friends and family. Such a generous warm and kind-hearted spirit. Taken from us way too early. We will always remember you and we are sure your spirit will lift Sam, Maya and Callum to live their lives to the fullest. Love too to Clare with hope that she finds peace in the darkest hours and new lights at the end of the tunnel.
All our love, Stephen, Kristie, Jonathan and Hannah XXXX

I am so sorry that we couldn't make the service, To say goodbye. It has been a long time, too long but I still thought of you as a good friend. Never judgmental and always had the right advice at the right time, a brilliant bloke and a great friend. I am so glad you eventually got the life and the happiness you so richly deserved when you met Clare. Goodbye mate xxx

Simon, such a special friend, you were selfless and kind and would always give your time to listen and care. In my darkest days you always took time to message me and check I was okay. When Mick had his car accident you fixed my car, filled it up with petrol and made sure me and Mia were okay. We loved our chat with you, talking about our families and our endless house renovations between us. All the Coopers will miss you dearly. It’s be a privilege to have been your friend; rest easy Simon. We send all our love to Clare, Sam, Maya and Callum xxxx

My Mate/Hero and Gentleman Rebel, Simon Lloyd.

I first met Simon Lloyd in 1982.
He taught me lots things, when I didn’t have a clue.
He took away my hammer, and showed me a better way.
Many things not taught in schools, I remember to this day.
Like, the Forest Gump story, of the changing of the man.
To me Simon Lloyd was my real life, very own  “ Lieutenant Dan “
Patience is an important virtue, and rarely ever-rewarded quick.
He’d build you confidence slowly, once he knew what made you tick.

He gave me driving lessons, in the company’s breakdown van.
This brought out his nervous side, a tough job for any man.
“ Mirror signal maneuver ” was boring, and I had to break the habit.
I took a wrong turn into a muddy field, and started to chase a rabbit.
He protested many many times “ No    No     No ”
I told him that all I heard was     “ Go    Go      Go ”
He started to rant and rage, " that's not what I ment ".
I protested that I heard " Go  Go  Go " So I  " Went  Went   Went "  !
He seemed surprised by my emergency stop, and the squealing tyres heard.
I said that it’s a must, so I could go back, and wheel spin on a dead bird.

Many things when wrong, but he always had my back.
He’d listen to all my mad plans, he always had the knack.
We both loved the same music, and when work was getting slow.
We’d crank up the cassette player volume, and give everyone a show.

When it came to the ladies, he had a special Touch.
He told me to. “ Just be yourself, but not too much “
Play to your strengths and make them laugh, but never be crude.
The results were slow, and it took sometime to get them in the mood.
I would borrow his car for 1st dates, as mine was such a mess.
It worked like a booster rocket, to guarantee dating success.

Oprah Winfrey was all the rage, and the girls liked a modern man.
He showed me how to cook from scratch, and nothing from a can.
The first recipe was  “ Lasagna in a Hurry “ my method was a fluke.
I usually got another date, if she felt no need to puke.

I went on to work abroad, and our lives took different routes down the track.
The Kids came along, and new chapters in life were written back to back.
I must stop now, and raise a glass to this very very special man.
“ To a Legend and my Hero!    My very own “ Lieutenant Dan “

Dedicated to Clare and all the Lloyd family at this difficult time.
