We are very sorry to hear the news of Jon passing. We’ve known Jon for more than twenty years as he coached both our children. His positivity and enthusiasm even in the most difficult moments of his life are inspiring for all of us. We are grateful to know him, he will be missed a lot.

Jon coached my children (Sera, Rachael, Hannah, James and Tim) and myself over the last 25 years and brought with him great humour to the lessons. He was a brilliant teacher and, I found out, kept progress cards on us all (!). That way he could say "Last week we worked on ....how did you get on? This week I thought we could work on...." He clearly put a lot of thought and planning into his lessons. He was also 100% reliable and even if it was spitting would turn up provided we did not cancel! He will be much missed!

Jon gave so much of himself to Chobham Tennis Club over many years. He was a great guy and a brilliant coach, who made the lessons fun and interesting. He contributed in many other ways to the running of our club and his advice and guidance was always valuable, fair and reasoned. He will be impossible to replace and we are all grateful to have known him.
