John Prest (27 Dec 1938 - 27 Jan 2020)

John passed away in January 2020, after a short illness which saw him hospitalised in Surrey, whilst spending Christmas and New Year with his daughter and grandsons.

He decided that he wanted to spend his last days out of hospital back in Yorkshire. Unfortunately he could not go home but he stayed in Kirkwood Hospice and they were amazing.

He had type 2 diabetes for many years and the vascular problems that ultimately lead to his death, stemmed from his diabetes and circularity issues.

We have decided that rather than sending flowers to his funeral we would like donations to be made to this amazing place, Kirkwood Hospice, so they can continue to support families in their times of need and also we would like donations to be made to Diabetes UK so they can continue their work and help other families.

John's funeral will be followed by a reception at High Park, Bradley Road, Huddersfield HD2 1PZ.
