In loving memory of Kathleen (Kathy) Buckner who sadly passed away on 19th January 2020

Kathy was born in Hatfield in 1943, she moved to Canvey Island when she was a child, she was the youngest of four children. She was very close to her sister and two brothers.

She met her husband Robert in 1957 and they married in 1962. They were married for 57 years and had three daughters and eight grandchildren. With Bob's support and encouragement she trained to be a Yoga teacher, she flourished in this role and her classes were extremely popular, she went on to train new Yoga teachers and feature in magazines, books, tv and radio programmes.

Kathy was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than to be with her family.

In recent years Kathy experienced mobility problems and fought to regain her mobility as much as possible, because of her healthy lifestyle this was a real blow to her. This showed what a strong and determined woman she was. Even in her last few days she fought hard to stay with her family, always checking on how everyone was doing before worrying about herself.

Kathleen Buckner was my Aunt and from a very young age I always thought of her as my favourite Auntie Kathy. She was always so kind and loving to me. As I grew up I have admired and respected her. Even though we didn’t always see each other as often as we would have liked due to distance in miles. We have kept in touch in our hearts, text and cards. I will miss her terribly but her love will be with me forever. Tania xx
