In loving memory of Mavis Taylor who passed away on 21st January 2020 aged 85 years, terribly missed but mercifully free from pain and suffering now.

Mavis worked hard throughout her life and overcame difficulties with determination and kindness, enjoying adventurous holidays and fun with friends but her true heart was her fierce love and support of family.

She leaves behind devoted husband Brian who is comforted by his special memories of 65 years marriage until they can be together again and daughters Jane and Debra and grandchildren Tom and Annie who will carry the knowledge of her unmatched pride at their achievements in their hearts forever.

Courageous to the end, Mavis asked for no 'long life history', psalms or hymns but we look forward to celebrating her life with all who knew her on Tuesday 18th February at 11.40am in the South Chapel of Southend Crematorium.

After the service all family and friends are invited for refreshments to toast a life so well lived and filled with love.

Please also help us celebrate by sharing your memories and photos of Mavis via the message link below

Mavis was an energetic and vivacious person whose close friendship we enjoyed for over 70 years. The world is a more sombre place without her. Susan rejoiced in having her as a Godmother.

Talking and laughing with the cousins is what I remember. They were all always ready to see the funny side. What a joy.

I have very fond memories of Mavis as a very happy and jovial good neighbour in Leigh Gardens and of our shared ski holidays that Brian organised. She was always good fun and I'm sure she always enjoyed those trips. They were lovely times.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

Mavis you were a beautiful person. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you when I moved to London in 1997. Your beautiful daughter Debs is very dear to me and I am sure you are very proud of her. Thank for for giving me such a wonderful friend in your daughter. I will always remember our Christmas together and you have a special place in my heart. xx
