In loving memory of our Mum, Belinda Louise Ridgwell, who passed away peacefully at home on Friday, 17 January 2020.

Mum, Boo, B was 53. Born on 6 January 1967, coming into this world a fighter. Daughter to her loving Mum and Dad, Brenda and Terry Legg. The 2nd sibling of two brothers (Roger and Ben) and sister (Rachel), her life was spent growing up in Leigh-on-Sea making a tonne of friends as she went with a feisty attitude, hugest smile and wicked laugh! She then met our Dad, Simon. Then came along us, Matthew and Thomas. Her boys. She was just awesome.

This last round of Breast Cancer metastasised to her Liver and meant that from December 2017 she knew it was Stage 4 or 'terminal', and that this time she understood she couldn't be fixed. Mum was determined to continue living and loving her life, soaking up each and every moment. She fought hard battles along the way. She was terribly sad at times, frightened and exhausted but with her positive outlook and zest, made some incredible memories for and with friends, and family; went to some amazing places on holiday. Visited the theatre, the cinema, long dog walks, afternoon teas and meals, and many, many nights out. She truly was surrounded by enormous love and support and, in return, we were drowned by her love of us and life.

We hope as many of you as possible can join the family on Thursday, 13 February for her 'Celebration of Life'.

Please meet us and Mum at The Lawns at 2.00pm you are then welcome to join the family for the procession to her Burial Service, or remain at The Lawns for Tea and Coffee until the procession returns for the 2.45pm Celebration of Life Service in the Orangery. After which, we will all move to the Ball Room to celebrate with shared memories.

2.00pm: The Lawns, Rochford, SS4 1PJ
2.15pm: Burial
2.45pm: Celebration of Life Service
5.00pm - Midnight: Friendship Celebration with Music

Dress Code: Colour and whatever you feel most comfortable. No black.
Flowers: Family only.
Donation: Parkinson's UK in memory of Brenda Legg.

Friends are welcome to come and go throughout the day and the evening.

Mum planned her 'Celebration of Life' meticulously leaving very strict instructions; her wish was to repeat her party last Summer. Most importantly it's a celebration to take time out to remember her and be together in that love and friendship of her.

Our Mum, our Daughter, Our Sister, our Friend. Our Warrior.

Matt and Tom x

Hello Matt and Tom, I have only just seen that your Mum Belinda to me has passed. I am Diane I was seeing Belinda almost every week to help her lymphoedema that was in her arm. This lady had a hard shell and soft centre 😊 I see many who are struggling/suffering with this disease. Belinda is one who is on my mind a lot. She shared her stories of holidays with her boys, her love and sadness on what you were going through and her laughs and anger. I was happy to listen, laugh and sometimes advice but, Belinda always found her way in what she wanted and was very clear. I am glad she made Christmas for you both as this she wanted. When I last see Belinda it was December we were laughing and chatting as usual but I saw the change this disease had on her and she did say she had had enough of this pain, still fighting , still managing to laugh and talk of her family. I will miss her dearly and in the 30 years of working Belinda will and has a positive effect on my life one lady I won’t forget. Sending all my thoughts to you both, stand proud that your mum was something someone very special. Diane
