Lucia Rosa Gunn (6 Apr 1922 - 9 Apr 2015)

Gunn Lucia Rosa of Nuneaton passed away on the 9th April 2015 aged 93 years. Loving wife of the late Cliff and a much loved mam, grandma and great grandma. The funeral service took place at Our Lady Of The Angels Roman Catholic Church, Nuneaton on Friday 8th May at 2.00pm followed by interment into Bucks Hill Cemetery at 2.45pm. No flowers by request. Donations for a charity (D.E.C. Nepal earthquake appeal), will be taken on the day of the service. Lucia, born in Genova Italy, had a happy upbringing there and in Piacenza, although at the age of 15 she had the very sad time of her father passing away. At the end difficult times in the second world war she married Cliff and came to Nuneaton, England. They had four children together and brought them up, in their humble way, well fed, well clothed in a very well kept home. During their childhood, the family went overland annually to visit Lucia's family, (mother Maria and sister Gabriella) having fantastic summer holidays. A proud lady, Lucia was kind, generous and loved her family. In her later years she took great pleasure of being in the company of her grandchildren and then great grandchildren all of whom she adored. In fact as she came towards the end of her life her what gave her most distress was the fact of leaving her cherished family behind. She will be greatly and sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbours in Acacia road, where she had lived for 58 years. May she rest peacefully. XXXX
