Dr. Sukumaran Jayarajan (19 Mar 1938 - 27 Dec 2019)

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Dr. Sukumaran Jayarajan, commonly known as Dr. Jay or Jay on 27th December 2019 in Ipswich, following a short illness.
The funeral service will be held at 2:15pm on Tuesday 21st January 2020 at Seven Hills Crematorium, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP10 0FG, followed by a reception to which all are welcome.
Dr. Jayarajan was born on the 19th March 1938 in Alleppey, Kerala, India. He graduated from Bangalore medical school, and had a successful career as a doctor in India and the UK and came to work at Ipswich hospital in 1970. He practised medicine there for 35 years. He and his wife Rema also opened nursing homes in Felixstowe and Witnesham, specifically to care for the elderly in the local community.
He married Rema in 1965, and moved to the UK in 1966. They raised two daughters in Ipswich. A loving husband to Rema, brother to Kochani and the late Uni, father to Sheila and Usha, grandfather to Anisha, and father in law to Harald Beck and the late Peter Hinman. Dr. Jayarajan will be sadly missed.
