In loving memory of Ivy Pope who passed away peacefully on 5th January 2020 at 9.45 pm in Fazakerley Hospital (University Hospital Aintree), where she had been taken on 29th December after suddenly developing pneumonia.
She was surrounded by members of her family as she passed. She was just a week short of her 99th birthday (11th January).

It is almost impossible to express in words what Ivy meant to us all, she was a truly remarkable lady in so many ways and as she would say herself "had a great life". She remained bright, independent and vibrant, right up until the end.

Her funeral will begin with a short cremation ceremony at Thornton Crematorium, Lydiate Lane, Thornton, Liverpool, L23 1TP at 10:40 on 22nd January.

Afterwards there will be a service to celebrate Ivy's life at Moor Lane Methodist Church, Crosby, Liverpool L23 2UH, at 11:30. Ivy's family would like you to know that all who attend are very welcome to come for refreshments afterwards, in the adjacent Church Hall.

If you are planning to attend, we would be grateful if you could indicate this using the link on this page. This would help us with catering.

There is also an opportunity to write a message, or light a candle for Ivy on this page, if you should wish to do so.

Love and light,
Ivy's Loving Family xx

Aunty Pip, Happy memories - first ever cup of Ovaltine!, leap frog in the back garden at Jiplar, made to go up the Great Orme, bonfire cake and chestnuts in the boiler, Conway Castle biscuits and American Hard Gums in the back of Uncle Ron's van, window shopping on Sundays in Lord Street, New Brighton Fair, Avon Bloom in the back garden, shelling peas. Lots and lots of giggles and fun. XXX Shaar

Well... What can you say!! Gran was one of the kindest, understanding and happiest amazing ladies I have ever met. If I can be half the lady she was I will be happy. Heaven has gained another star and one which will stay in our hearts forever.
