Richard Wheatley wrote

I was at Musters Rd Secondary Modern School with Richard from 1954 to 1957.He organised a series of cricket matches against a team organised by fellow school mate Laurence Selby.Richard was the nephew of the Notts CC opening batsman Johnny Clay and had inherited some of his uncles batting skills.Richard was a gentle,unassuming individual and very sportsmanlike and fair in his play.He was brave too.He would bat without wearing pads! I was so sorry to learn of Richard's passing and may he rest in peace.
