Ron Wouldham sadly passed away on the 22nd December 2019 following a long fight against Alzheimers Disease.
He was visited regularly by his family - daughters Anna and Laura and son Colin, and their families (particularly his granddaughter Sophie and her daughter Elsie) - at the Grovelands Care Home in Bexleyheath. Colin, Anna and Laura would like to thank all of the carers at Grovelands for the lovely care they gave to Ron.
Prior to living at Grovelands, Ron spent the bulk of his life living in Farnham Road in Welling with his wife Sheila and the kids. When Sheila passed away in 2013, Laura had already moved back home with Ron and could keep him company. After a while, Ron decided to move to sheltered accommodation in Crayford and soon adapted to life there. This ended the family's 50-year association with Farnham Road, but everybody in the family treasures the memory of all the fun times that were had there.
Ron enjoyed playing bowls when he could, often referring to his lack of ability while laughing - but he amassed a large number of trophies which showed that he was better at bowls than he liked to let on! He remained addicted to football, keeping up-to-date with the game, and able to talk about it with fans of any team (as he proved even in 2016 in the South of France while on holiday with Colin & Gail when he was found telling a group of French twenty-somethings about the Premier League and keeping them spellbound.)
Ron was loved by many and was a kind, gentle, generous man who seemed to be at home in any company. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and many friends, who will miss his infectious laugh and twinkling eyes. He was a loving Dad (to Colin, Anna and Laura), Grandad (to Danny, Sophie, Lucy, Sam and Tom) and Great-Grandad (to Reggie, Elsie and Arthur.)
Ron's funeral will be held at Eltham Crematorium at 3.15pm on Wednesday, 15th January, 2020.
