I will endeavour to attend, it’s a long way from Cumbria. However, because Jim was probably the best Flight Sergeant I had. He was my Flt Sgt in Masirah, way back in 1976. And now, as Chairman of the RAF Masirah/Salalah Veterans Association, I feel I should make an effort.

  • Clearly, Gerrard or Taylor weren't in attendance - he looks too sober! Gone but never forgotten Jim. Peace.

  • Great photo of Jim, that's as I remember him. He was a fantastic boss and mentor. I have fond memories of 9SR and the many troop do's/meze's with Jim being at the helm (and bar). Sadly missed, RiP Jim.

  • It was so sad when mum and dad said about Jim. It was a sorrow heart that they could not make his funeral. I always remember him as a larger than life character and lovely funny man. Doug Thrower
