Hi Dad,
This webpage randomly popped up tonight....no idea how, I haven’t visited this site for two years, but it’s Mum’s Birthday today so hopefully this is you saying hello!
I miss you.
I promise I won’t freak out next time you play Mack The Knife through my iPad while I’m reading at bedtime 😊
I love you very much. Stay in touch 💕

I served with Bill as a Police Officer for over 25 years. He was my partner for 12 months or so (in CID) back in the late 1970’s, working a large a rural area where we were very much left to our own devices. Being still sworn to secrecy I can only say we shared a lot of good times and know having Bill as a colleague made it easier to go to work and face whatever was to come. Over the following 20years we often bumped into each other and Bill always had time for a chat. Without fail he would come up with a joke or humorous story and so it was always a pleasure to meet him. He was a mate respected by all his colleagues and also many a criminal too. He was a good copper and well deserved the respect he received.
RIP Bill

We were lucky to have Bill as our first neighbour when we moved from South Africa with our sons some 20 years ago. Bill was always helpful and friendly and we had some wonderful chats, mainly taking place in the cul-de-sac often than not with our dogs in tow! I remember the endless times we needed a counter-signature for passports or ID documents and Bill was only too happy to oblige. Rob and Bill shared a love of sport and were always chatting about various games and motor racing that had been on television. They would exchange their 'Fly Past' magazines and go to model shows to collect endless kits to build!!

Bill was the heart of our neighbourhood and will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace Bill

Love Carol and Rob Anderson

Remembering the good days we had on 54 Squadron on the Hunters. I hope you will keep a kind eye on the 'Troops' until we all meet again.
A great Guy, with an infectious laugh, always.

Vivid memories of bill having to take Joshua to see the animals every single Tuesday when Bill and mum looked after him and always popping in to Costa Coffee and letting Joshua put Bill's sugar in his coffee. Even at 8 years old, Joshua still puts the sugar in the coffee and says that grandad bill taught him .

I joined the RAF with Bill atStAthan South Wales in the same trade as Armourer's where we both changed from boys to men in a short one and a half years training. On postings we went our septerate way, he to work on fighters and me on bombers. Three or four year ago we met up again on the internet, sharing our times together as if it was yesterday. I was so pleased to have caught up with him, he was a great mate, a south paw who gave me a beating in the ring, I'll get my own back one day Bill, keep checking who's behind you Bill, I'll catch you up shortly. Best wishes Mate Stan (Chippy) Carpenter
