So sorry to hear about Mary’s passing, lots of love to Eddie & Richard. I remember many happy times at Christmas, New year, bonfire night and the silver jubilee with everyone. I remember baby sitting Richard watching tales of the unexpected when you went for monthly nights out with mum and dad. I used to call Mary “Auntie Mary” She wasn’t my auntie by blood but I would have been proud and happy if she was, lots of love Hilary (Nee Brack)

In loving memory of Georgina Mary Skinner who sadly passed away on 20th November 2019 at her home surrounded by her husband Edward and her only son Richard and partner Kurt.
Georgina was one of two children being born on the 6th of May 1935 in Holywell, Northumberland, England to George Gibson and Gertrude Ann Dunford Cole Byers Gibson. Younger sister to James Byers Gibson.
Georgina attended Stevenson Secondary School in Howden, Northumberland from 1946 to 1950.
Georgina met her husband Edward Henry Skinner at the Plaza Dance Hall, Tynemouth, Northumberland at the age of 17. Edward asked to walk her home that evening, first travelling by bus which was met by her father George at the final stop. Edward and Georgina initially walked on one side of the street whilst her father George walked on the other before she decided to cross the street linking arms with both. That was the start of a long journey together when she got engaged six months later to Edward on her 18th Birthday.
Four years later Georgina and Edward were married at St Paul's Church, Willington Quay, Northumberland on the 15th of June 1957 at the age of 22, walked down the aisle by her brother James. Georgina and Edward celebrated their 62nd Anniversary this past June.
Georgina travelled extensively after her marriage with Edward, who was a Second Engineer on marine vessels visiting Canada, United States Of America and Brazil in the early years, going on to visit many other countries throughout Europe and the world in her lifetime.
In 1972 after waiting almost 14 years they were blessed with the birth of their son Richard Edward on the 6th of May, another landmark event for her birthday. Georgina, Edward and their son moved to London and continued to travel residing in several other countries including Denmark, Italy, Singapore and the USA (New York).
Georgina, throughout her life, worked as a Photographers Assistant in her teens, Secondary School Dinner Lady in her forties & Wife/Mother throughout. She was known for her knitting of trauma teddies for children.
Georgina and Edward finally moved to West End in Hampshire where they resided for over 25 years before her passing.
Georgina will be forever known for her kind heart, generous nature and for putting others first. She was energetic, joyful with a passion for life, her son, her husband, bingo, baking and her dog Jack.
