In loving memory of Shri. U. Padmanabha Nayak who sadly passed away on 25th November 2019, in Lincoln England.

Shri. U.P. Nayak was born in Southern Karnataka on May 27, 1943 and grew up with 7 siblings. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from KREC Surathkal, first batch from 1960-65, and subsequently went to Bombay then Ghaziabad (U.P.) to work for a company called Poysha. He married Shanthi Nayak on January 25th 1969 and had two children – Suman and Navin.

In 1984, a new job took him and his family to Dubai, and his retirement in 2010 brought him back to his beloved hometown of Mangalore. He loved spending as much time with his family as he possibly could. Nothing made him happier than having his entire clan at the dining table, laughing and recalling stories over good food. He loved to read and was never without a book by his bedside. His long experience as the kind, loving, fun Dad promoted him to the status of even kinder, more loving and more fun Grandad. His amiable nature brought him many friends wherever he went. He was a gentle, kindhearted, positive minded person, and a very patient man. A loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all of us.

With lots of love always – Shrimathi Nayak (wife), Suman & Varadaraj (daughter and son-in-law), Navin & Seema (son and daughter-in-law), and Rohan, Mallika, Aashaye, Anaya (grandchildren)

  • When I came to know about the sad demise of dear Padmanabhbhavajee, I could not believe. About two years ago, I had a couple of hours of joyful chat with him during our visit to Puttur to convey our condolences to the family of Ganapathibhavajee who left to the heavenly abode. PadmanabhBhavajeee was hale and hearty and I cannot forget the smile on his face He was a man of noble thoughts and Happy go Lucky type. I did not find any change in him from his days in Dubai where I and dear Jyothi, spent a couple of days with him and his family way back in 2007. Meetha also joins me in expressing heartfelt condolences to Shrimathi. Sumana and Navin, their families and all family members. May God bless them with the strength to withstand the pain of this great loss of the leading light of the family. REST IN PEACE

He was a gentleman's gentleman and was very close to my heart. A doting husband and father. He had his own unique style of cracking a joke which would make the gathering burst into laughter. I stayed with him and his family for two years in Thane when I was also working for Poysha and had the opportunity to be close to him. He never used to get angry or frustrated and had a way to tackle every difficulty in his own style. He will be sorely missed and my heart goes out to his family.
Om shanti

Dear shrimathi, my heart felt condolences for the loss of my brother in law. Shrimathi, I recall all those days we enjoyed alot with Padmanabha and you. I remember the days in ghaziabad. Going to picture and market together without much financial stability.
He liked my husband and me very much. He was a very silent man, kind, warm and soft spoken gentleman. Those memories will stay with me forever. I will always cherish those days when we stayed together throwing fruits at each other, from house to house. I will miss those days as we cannot relive them anymore. But they will always reside within me.
Padmanabha, I really miss you.
May his soul rest in peace.

Padmanabh bappa will always be remembered by me as a kind, warm, soft spoken gentleman. He always had something encouraging to say to me regarding my articles or embroidery pieces, which I really appreciated. Just the other day he had liked one of my fb posts and I was pleased that he was well enough to browse fb and also took the trouble to react to my post. Difficult to grasp the fact that he is no more. Sincere condolences to the family.
