In loving memory of Neil Stanley Davies who sadly passed away on 4th November 2019

When I first met Neil in 1976 he was just starting his career in the lift industry

I knew that he would be good at team building, especially, as his mother had told me that when as a boy he was given the job of tidying the garden he encouraged most of his friends to join in.

We enjoyed life's journey together, moving house as Neil took different positions within the Otis Group.
He always encouraged me in what I wanted to do.

Always enthusiastic in his work life, he also developed a love of fishing and snooker (which he was taught to do by his father) He also enjoyed a competitive game of squash.

Later Golf came along, which after retirement led to us spending time in our home in Spain.
Golf also enabled him to enjoy another hobby which was buying shoes.

Neil enjoyed driving, and cars were always a big interest.
We embarked on journeys to Spain and often travelled the length and breadth of the country.
Using built in "Neil -Nav" we never got lost.

Neil was very cheery and always had a joke up his sleeve he was very caring and always ready to help in time of need.

We travelled the world together and I always felt safe with Neil there to look after me.

A year ago Neil became ill and I will always admire his valiant attempts to explore every opportunity for treatment.
As his health worsened his dearest wish was to come home as he had spent so much time in hospital.

At that time we knew he didn't have long to live but we didn't know how long

He was very poorly when he left hospital after the stroke , and day by day he became weaker.

I am so sorry that those who asked, were not able to see him but I thought that there would be more time for visitors to come.

He was able to appreciate you kind wishes of support and love up until the day before his death.

Neil had a huge appetite for life and as he always said "life is not a rehearsal"

Dear Neil may God bless you and keep you

All my love Ellen

I first met Neil in 1985 when I came over from Kenya to Join Wadswoth Lifts in Birmingham , part of Otis Group .
There was a special bond developed immediately which I am unable to describe . He often came over to Birmingham to witness test the lifts in my area , where we spent many evenings sharing jokes over a few drinks and digging into home made curries .
We played golf a few times at my and his golf club , but then lost touch when he retired and was always in Spain
His relationship and special bond will last in my memory and I will miss him dearly

Neil was a wonderful man- a great friend, golfing partner and companion at many eating houses and watering holes. He loved to play the odd prank and enjoyed school boy humour - he called me Tufty and he was Cuddles, proper mates.
A very generous man, Neil loved to have a good time and the only thing he loved more was making sure his friends had an even better time.
Bless you Neil we will miss you loads.
Love to Ellie - Dave ( Tufty) and Chris Bown xx

We first met Neil & Ellen in 1987 when we became neighbours in Pennant Road. Our friendship started from there and we have kept in touch ever since. Martin spent many evenings with Neil in the pubs of Burbage putting the world to rights! Our 2 daughters Jenny and Rebecca were also very fond of these two lovely people. We are all very sorry that Neil couldn't win this battle. It was a pleasure and privilege to be able to call him a friend.
