Monica grew up in Louth as Monica Moore and always thought of Louth and Grimoldby as home. She is joining four generations of the family in the churchyard.
She married Bill Newman in 1952 and together they raised two daughters, Lesley and Karen. Monica and Bill travelled extensively and returned to Grimoldby in 1970. They built Harriet House and later renovated Myrtledene, a thatched cottage in Northgate Lane,
After Bill died she married Sid Chattington and moved to Louth, first living on Newmarket and later, after Sid’s death, on James Street. She is survived by her daughters Lesley and Karen, two grandchildren, Ashley and Tristan, two great grandchildren, Robin and Liam, stepdaughters Christine, Jennifer and Elizabeth, step-granddaughters Katie and Sarah as well as five step-great grandchildren, and many wonderful friends around the world.
